In the opener of the VIJHL Championship Final, Kane Law scored the winning goal in the third period to give the Nanaimo Buccaneers a 2-1 victory over the Victoria Cougars. Nate Barclay had a goal and an assist for Nanaimo, while Aaron Pichette made 30 saves to earn second star honours.
